In de nacht (1:17 UTC) bereiken we het oostelijke einde van het transect op 53.4088N-13.30.36W en draaien naar het NE in de richting van het volgende transect. Op 24 maart varen we op dit 160 mijl lange "intertransect": dit hele stuk transect wordt niet gebruikt voor de bestandsschatting: alleen de transecten die min of meer loodrecht op de dieptelijnen staan, worden gebruikt. Onderweg stoppen we voor een trek op 1000m diepte (9:43 UTC; 54.32.40N-11.26.58W). Deze trek is bedoeld om de soortendiversiteit in het gebied vast te leggen. Deze trek wordt niet gebruikt voor de bestandsschatting van blauwe wijting.

At night (1:17 UTC) we reach the eastern end of the transect at 53.4088N-13.30.36W and turn NE towards the next transect. On March 24 we sail on this 160 mile long "intertransect": this entire stretch of transect is not used for stock estimation: only the transects that are more or less perpendicular to the depth contours are used. Along the way we stop for a haul at a depth of 1000m (9:43 UTC; 54.32.40N-11.26.58W) . This haul is intended to capture the species diversity in the area. This haul is not used for stock estimation of blue whiting.

De drie visjes rechtsonder moeten nog op soort worden gebracht. - Some species that look a lot alike. Snaggletooth (Astronethes gemmifer), scaleless dragonfish (Chirostomias pliopterus) and Black scaleless dragonfish (Melanostmias bartonbeani). The three little fishes in the lower right corner still have to be identified.

Na het uitzoeken van de diepe trek (nr 6), draaien we om 19:56 UTC naar het westen op het nieuwe transect. Even later op de rand van het continentale plat (55.12.18N-12.18.10W) zien we veel echo's van blauwe wijting op het echogram. Tijdens het uitzetten, valt een lier uit. Hoewel deze na enige tijd wordt gerepareerd, besluiten we om deze trek af te gelasten om niet teveel tijd te verliezen. Om 22:53 UTC zetten we weer koers naar het westen.

After sorting out the deep haul (no. 7), we turn west on the new transect at 19:56 UTC. A little later on the edge of the continental shelf (55.12.18N-12.18.10W) we see many echoes of blue whiting on the echogram. During deployment, a winch fails. Although it is repaired after some time, we decide to cancel this haul so as not to lose too much time. At 22:53 UTC we set course again to the west.
