Zou dit dan de eerste blauwe wijting zijn? We zetten het net uit voor trek 1 (8:12 UTC). De vangst bestaat inderdaad uit blauwe wijting. De vissen zijn vrij klein, waarschijnlijk zijn ze 1 en 2 jaar oud.

Laat in de avond komen we bij de rand van de Bank en zien we aantekeningen van blauwe wijting op het echogram. De vangst van trek 2 (23:15 UTC) bestaat uit blauwe wijting. De vissen zijn nu wel wat groter dan in de vorige trek. Waarschijnlijk zijn ze 3-5 jaar oud.

Late in the evening, we reach the edge of the Bank and see indications of blue whiting on the echogram. The catch from haul 2 (23:15 UTC) consists of blue whiting. The fish are somewhat larger now than in the previous tow. They are probably 3-5 years old.
